In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly Donald Trump's chief strategist, was in the UK preparing for a address at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by numerous protesters, and Bannon, who was due to travel that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Activists delayed my talk don't think I can catch the plane we are heading to the airport".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a Gulf Air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "U r an excellent assistant".

These exchanges were released on this week together with more than 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's name is withheld. The BBC has been able to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the dates, occurrences, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about arranging a plane from the UK for the unnamed individual in the chat, and commends their "address at Oxford". Bannon took part in the Edinburgh conference on 14 November, and gave the speech at the Oxford two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, did not reply on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon served as Trump's closest aides in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a live taping of his show recently, he said: "We're going to publish the film, the multi-part documentary, in the coming year - early next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A short time before the conversation in which Epstein seemed to arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid booking agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Discussed in Messages

The published communications also show Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year.

On the day of his address at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit issue this day with Farage, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to the UK prime minister, the struggling British leader at the time, he added: "The guys are attempting to move on. may today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can uk. Best-- so others see the dedication of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon answered: "I don't see how however the guys here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Michael Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was finally removed in 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told media: "Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the Department of Justice should make public all its records concerning its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with influential individuals was reignited recently after the publication of over 20,000 documents from his estate.

A portion of those referenced Trump, who has repeatedly rejected any wrongdoing. The leader was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
