I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly proceeding.
